Camel City Carriage offers you a new way to enjoy our city!
There is a new sound on the streets of downtown Winston Salem. Camel
City Carriage is launching its first carriage ride downtown this
weekend. For a few dollars you can hop on and take a ride around
downtown on an Amish built carriage with two of the prettiest Belgian
quarter horses you’ve ever seen. Named Bo and Doc, they are sure to win
the hearts of the downtown crowd in no time!
The carriage will be on the streets every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday
evening from 6 to 9pm. The route begins at Filling Station/Zevely House
in West End and ends at the Garage on 7th and Trade streets with stops
along the way at: Caffe Prada, Foothills Brewery, One Park Vista area,
Arts District area, and at ISP Sports. Ride is $6.00 one way...so take
a ride from West End (or a stop on the route), hop off in the Arts
District (or for Dinner on 4th St) and enjoy the evening. Catch us on a
return ride for $6.00, or take a stroll back thru town. Rides are typically 10 to 30 minutes. Rides can
be purchased anytime, just approach a driver at a designated stopping
point.
In addition to the regular route Camel City Carriage offers a variety of
Horse Drawn Carriage Tours around downtown Winston-Salem. Stay tuned for
storytelling and historic tours, romantic picnic tours or hire a
carriage for a night out in the city with friends. They will customize
any tour to meet your needs.
“Launching this company is the perfect way for
me to combine my passion for our city
and its history and my passion for horses…”,
says Camel City Carriage founder Toni Phillips.
